In autumn 2017, LeaseGreen designed and implemented an extensive energy renovation to the ETRA Megacenter owned by Etola Real Estate in Kärsämäenti, Turku, modernising the property’s ventilation and building automation.
“The Turku property had significantly higher maintenance costs, especially for energy, than our other properties. That’s why I decided that something had to be done about it,” says Jouni Pelkonen, Managing Director.
Savings were higher than anticipated. Overall, energy efficiency improvements have almost halved the energy costs of the ETRA Megacenter in Turku. In terms of maintenance costs, the Turku property now stands out among the best.

The ETRA Megacenter in Turku was built in 1973. It has a gross floor area of 4200m2 and a building volume of just over 25 000 rm3.
Kojamo and LeaseGreen will carry out energy renovations in two Lumo buildings. The first geothermal project in Helsinki is underway and will be completed by the end of September 2025. The second project will start in spring 2026. Switching to geothermal heating will reduce the running costs of buildings and promote environmentally friendly urban living.
