LeaseGreen carried out an energy renovation at the Chemigate plant in Mietois, a company operating in the chemical industry. A process heat recovery system using heat pump technology was built for the plant.

The change has saved considerable energy and cut a third of the Mietoinen plant’s carbon footprint. That’s around 300 000_CO2 per year – the same as 2 400 return flights to Stockholm. In addition, the recovery of heat generated during the manufacturing process has reduced the plant’s oil consumption by 58%. So in practice, the mill’s oil bill has been halved.

“This is a truly significant, concrete action from the point of view of green thinking,” summarises Toni Koski, Operations Manager at Chemigate.
